Local Network Integration (Wi-Fi Infrastructure Mode)¶
This method allows you to integrate the Neon into your existing workplace Wi-Fi. By doing so, the machine becomes a node in your local network, similar to a wireless printer.
Network Integration Overview¶
Connecting the Neon to your local network offers distinct operational advantages but requires a stable infrastructure.
- Key Benefits: Allows simultaneous internet access and machine control. It also simplifies multi-user environments, enabling different computers on the same network to interface with the hardware.
- Technical Requirement: To initiate this setup, you must first establish a temporary connection via the Neon Access Point or a physical Ethernet cable.
- Signal Stability: Performance is directly linked to your router's signal strength. For high-bandwidth tasks, ensure the Neon is positioned within optimal range of the Wi-Fi router to avoid packet loss or latency.
Configuration Process: Step-by-Step¶
Follow these steps within Due Studio to bridge the machine to your local network:
1. Access System Settings¶
On the Due Studio Control Bar, locate and click the Settings (gear) icon to open the configuration panel.
2. Scanning for Networks¶
Navigate to the Wi-Fi tab and click Refresh. The software will scan the environment and list all available SSIDs detected by the Neon.
3. Authentication and Handshake¶
Select your preferred workplace network and click Connect. If the network is secured, enter your credentials and click Apply.
4. Finalizing Connection¶
If you used the temporary Neon Wi-Fi to perform this setup, you may now switch your computer back to your workplace Wi-Fi. Verify the "Connection Status" icon in the software; once it turns green, the Neon is successfully integrated into your local ecosystem.
Connection Troubleshooting
Inconsistent signal or incorrect credentials can prevent successful integration. If you experience dropouts, consult our guide on Local Network Troubleshooting or consider a wired Ethernet connection for maximum reliability.
