Lens Cleaning Guide

The lens is one of the most critical components of your Due Flow. It is responsible for focusing the laser beam to achieve a precise cut. If the lens is dirty, the laser loses focus and power, which can lead to poor results or even permanent damage to the component.

Safety Warning

Always ensure the machine is powered off and disconnected before performing any maintenance on the optical components.

Cleaning Frequency

  • Standard Use: This should be a weekly procedure.
  • MDF & High-Resin Materials: If you cut MDF frequently, the lens must be cleaned daily. The residue from these materials can bake onto the lens due to the laser's heat, making it impossible to clean later.

Required Materials

To perform a safe cleaning without scratching the lens, you will need: * Cotton swabs (Q-tips) * Neutral detergent (mild soap) * Warm water

Step-by-Step Cleaning Procedure

Follow these steps with care and patience:

  1. Preparation: Mix a small amount of neutral detergent with warm water.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Dip a cotton swab into the mixture and gently wipe the lens surface using soft, circular motions.
  3. Removal of Residue: Use a fresh swab dampened only with warm water to remove any remaining soap or loosened dirt.
  4. Drying: Carefully dry the lens with a clean, dry cotton swab.
    • Important: Inspect the lens closely to ensure there are no streaks, lint, or water spots left behind. The lens must be perfectly transparent.

Pro Maintenance Tips

  • Check Both Sides: If your machine's design allows, ensure the underside of the lens is also free of dust.
  • Never Use Abrasives: Do not use alcohol-based glass cleaners or abrasive cloths, as they can strip the special coating off the lens.
  • Inspect for Cracks: While cleaning, check if the lens has any micro-cracks or "burnt" spots. If it does, it may be time for a replacement.

Keep it Focused

A clean lens means a sharper beam and faster cuts. Make this part of your routine to get the most out of your Due Flow!
